MLB Hit Streak Survivor picks for 4/29/26
By Shawn Stewart

After a perfect 3-0 sweep to open the week, we are officially in pursuit of back-to-back perfect slates. Our strategy remains disciplined: we aren’t chasing the long ball; we are chasing professional hitters who put the ball in play and avoid the strikeout.
On April 28th, our anchors (Alvarez, Edwards, and Guerrero Jr.) all delivered. Today, we are turning to three of the most reliable contact hitters in the game to hit that 6-0 mark.
Today’s Logic: The Quest for 6-0
For today’s slate, we are focusing on three players who excel in high-pressure environments and match up perfectly against today’s pitching.
1. Steven Kwan (Cleveland Guardians)
Kwan is the engine of the Cleveland offense. He currently boasts one of the highest contact rates in the American League and rarely swings at pitches out of the zone. Facing Tampa Bay at home, Kwan is the ideal lead-off anchor to set the tone for the day.
- The Matchup: vs. Tampa Bay Rays (1:10 PM EST)
2. Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers)
One of the most consistent hitters of his generation, Freeman is the definition of a “586 Strategy” play. He has an elite expected batting average and a massive sample size of success against the Marlins’ pitching staff.
- The Matchup: vs. Miami Marlins (3:10 PM EST)
3. Luis Arraez (San Francisco Giants)
The elite contact specialist is now anchoring the lineup in San Francisco, and his approach hasn’t changed. Arraez simply does not strike out. Whether it’s a line drive to left or a grounder through the shift, he finds a way to reach base.
- The Matchup: @ Philadelphia Phillies (6:40 PM EST)
