Shawn Stewart's MLB Hit Streak Survivor Contest

The road to the streak continues! We have officially updated the registration window—you now have until May 19, 2026, to join the official 586 Sports MLB Hit Streak Survivor contest on Splash Sports.

Whether you are riding with us from Michigan or joining our newly eligible crew in Canada (excluding Quebec), here is the logic you need for today’s slate and the rules to keep you in the money.

Today’s Top 3 “Logic” Picks (May 10, 2026)

  1. Ildemaro Vargas (1B, Arizona Diamondbacks)
    • The Logic: The Batting King. Vargas currently leads the entire National League with a .353 average. He is the ultimate “Survivor” pick because he creates contact on almost every swing. Facing the Mets today, he is our #1 target.
  2. Otto Lopez (SS, Miami Marlins)
    • The Logic: The Hit Leader. Lopez is currently the NL leader in total hits with 48 and a massive .351 average. He is a high-volume contact specialist who rarely strikes out, making him an elite “floor” play against the Nationals.
  3. Shea Langeliers (C, Athletics)
    • The Logic: Elite Consistency. Currently sitting at 46 hits with a .340 average, Shea has evolved into a pure contact threat. He thrives on finding gaps in the defense, even when he doesn’t barrel the ball perfectly.

The 3 “Alternative” Pivot Picks

  1. Andy Pages (CF, Los Angeles Dodgers)
    • The Logic: The Hot Hand. Pages is batting .329 on the season and has been on a tear. Coming off a clutch 2-hit, 1-HR game yesterday against the Braves, his confidence and bat speed are at an all-time high.
  2. Ozzie Albies (2B, Atlanta Braves)
    • The Logic: Veteran Reliability. Currently at 47 hits with a .311 average. As a switch-hitter facing a left-handed starter in LA today, he has a major statistical advantage to keep your streak alive.
  3. Luis Arraez (2B, San Diego Padres)
    • The Logic: The Strikeout Killer. If you are terrified of an 0-for-4 night, Arraez is your man. He maintains a .314 average and remains the hardest player in baseball to strike out.

How to Play: Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Day 1 (The Double Down): You must select two primary batters and one alternate. All three players must be from different MLB teams. If either of your primary picks gets a hit, you survive!
  • Day 2 & Beyond: You transition to picking one primary batter and one alternate daily.
  • The Alternate Rule: Your alternate only counts if your primary player does not play (late scratch or rest day). If your player starts the game and goes 0-for-4, the alternate is not used.
  • The Lock Time: All picks must be submitted at least 5 minutes before the scheduled first pitch of your player’s game.
