Tonight’s Featured Projections

1. Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) vs. Anaheim Ducks

Selection: 2.0 Points
The Play: OVER
The Logic: McDavid entered the playoffs as the league’s leading scorer with 138 points, and while he was held off the scoresheet in Game 1, he rarely stays quiet for two games in a row. With Leon Draisaitl back in the lineup to draw defensive attention, expect #97 to have massive lanes to operate. Against a Ducks defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in expected goals against, a multi-point night is the standard.

2. Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers

Selection: 5.5 Total Goals
The Play: UNDER
The Logic: The Flyers lead this series 2-0 largely due to the brick wall that is Dan Vladar, who has been playing out of his mind this postseason. Philadelphia’s defensive structure has completely neutralized Sidney Crosby and the Penguins’ front line so far. With the series shifting to Philly, expect a tight, defensive slugfest as the Penguins fight to stay alive in a low-scoring affair.

3. Anaheim Ducks @ Edmonton Oilers

Selection: 6.5 Total Goals
The Play: OVER
The Logic: Game 1 ended in a 4-3 thriller (7 total goals), and there’s no reason to expect a slowdown in Game 2. Edmonton’s power play is clicking at a league-best 30.6%, and Anaheim’s aggressive young offense has shown they aren’t afraid to trade blows with the heavyweights. Rogers Place has been a high-scoring venue all year—expect the lamps to stay lit.
