Tonight’s Top 3 NHL Projections

1. Montreal Canadiens @ Philadelphia Flyers

  • Selection: OVER 5.5 Total Goals
  • The Logic: This play is centered entirely on the Rocket Richard Trophy race. Cole Caufield is currently sitting at 51 goals, trailing Nathan MacKinnon by just one for the league lead. With tonight being Montreal’s season finale, expect the Habs to feed Caufield the puck on every single power play. The 5.5 alternate mark from BetSports Fantasy is the high-value play here, as both teams are likely to play a loose, offensive-heavy game to wrap up their season.

2. Washington Capitals @ Columbus Blue Jackets

  • Selection: UNDER 6.5 Total Goals
  • The Logic: While both teams were officially eliminated from playoff contention yesterday, this game is all about the “Great Eight.” Alex Ovechkin (929 career goals) takes the ice for what could be the final regular-season game of his legendary career. Washington has transitioned into a very disciplined, defensive style lately to protect Logan Thompson (.912 SV%), and Columbus has struggled to find the back of the net consistently all month. Expect a low-scoring, respectful battle as the curtain falls on the season.

3. Pittsburgh Penguins @ St. Louis Blues

  • Selection: UNDER 6.5 Total Goals
  • The Logic: This is a classic “spoiler” matchup between two physical teams. Stuart Skinner has been the steady hand for the Penguins since being acquired in that blockbuster December trade, and he’ll be looking to finish his first half-season in Pittsburgh with a statement win. Meanwhile, St. Louis has been playing incredibly tight defensively behind Joel Hofer, who has been excellent lately. With both sides looking to avoid mistakes in their finale, goals will be at a massive premium.
