Yesterday’s Recap: 4/27/26
We finished our Monday slate with a perfect 3-0 record, moving our bankroll in the right direction:
- Randy Vasquez (Under 4.5 K’s): WIN. Vasquez struggled with command and was pulled after 5 innings, finishing with exactly 4 strikeouts.
- White Sox (Over 4.5 Team Runs): WIN. The Sox offense exploded for 8 runs, crushing their team total.
- Marlins vs. Dodgers (Over 8.5 Total Runs): WIN. A 9-run thriller (5-4 Dodgers) narrowly cleared our mark.
Today’s Top Picks & Analysis
1. Nick Martinez (TB) @ Cleveland Guardians
Line: 3.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
- The Logic: Nick Martinez has been surgical this season, carrying a 2.10 ERA. While he isn’t a high-velocity “power” pitcher, he is highly efficient and currently averaging about one strikeout per inning. Facing a Guardians lineup that can be aggressive, Martinez only needs to maintain his usual pace to clear this low 3.5 bar. Even in a contact-first environment like Cleveland, his ability to mix speeds and pitch deep into the game makes the “Over” the logical choice.
- The Play: OVER
2. San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies
Line: 8.0 Total Runs Combined
- The Logic: We have a fascinating pitching matchup between Tyler Mahle (5.26 ERA) and Jesus Luzardo (6.91 ERA). Luzardo has struggled early this year, and Citizens Bank Park is a notorious “launch pad” for power hitters like Bryce Harper. With both starters showing vulnerability and the Phillies’ bats finding their rhythm, an 8-run total feels conservative.
- The Play: OVER
3. Detroit Tigers @ Atlanta Braves
Line: Tigers +1.5 (Run Line)
- The Logic: This is a battle of two very strong starters. The Tigers send Casey Mize (2.51 ERA) to the mound against Atlanta’s Martín Pérez (2.70 ERA). Mize has been dominant, and the Tigers have been competitive in nearly every game he has started this season. In a matchup where both pitchers are sporting sub-3.00 ERAs, we expect a tight, low-scoring affair where Detroit keeps it within a single run or wins outright.
- The Play: TIGERS +1.5
